murderershair: (devil's minion)
Hi, and thank you for checking out my letter! I've provided some prompts, ideas, general concepts and the like for each fandom along with the horror genres I like best for that request and while I hope some of them speak to you, if they don't please feel free to write me something else based on the horror genre providing it doesn't hit any of my DNWs.

Also my AO3 name is HannaM just in case you're a lovely person browsing for treats.

General Likes: creeping dread, not being able to trust one’s own memories/intuition/general sanity, vampires, ghosts, werewolves and other were-creatures, blood related rituals, atmosphere, characters trying to cover up their own discomfort with humor, ambiguous endings, characters trying to do their best despite all the odds being against them, oddly tender moments, tender moments that are really inappropriately timed, characters who are understandably wary of everything due to life circumstances, recovering memories you didn’t actually want back, something supernatural trying its best to blend in but failing just enough to unsettle, trauma from upbringing/family, huddling together for comfort even/especially if it’s not something one of them would usually do.

Blanket DNWs that are a bit more relevant to some fandoms than others: terminal illness, non-canonical major character death, pregnancy, kidfic, total paralysis/I have no mouth but I must scream kind of scenarios, amputation/permanent disfigurement, ageplay/extreme underage, vomit, scat, bestiality, asylums, shock treatment, medical stuff, eye and fingernail harm, gendered violence against women (women attacked/hurt in their reproductive organs/breasts, a focus on killing women specifically, women punished for being sexually active), non-canon age regression (out of fear or for any other reason really)

Diabolik Lovers
Genres: Gothic Horror, Psychological Horror, Survival Horror
Characters/Relationships:
✵ Komori Yui & Komori Seiji (Diabolik Lovers)

DNW
Seiji/Yui as a romantic or sexual relationship.

I have not kept up with the later games in the franchise, and would prefer to use the characterization from the first game (Haunted Dark Bridal) and/or the first anime season. My favorite pairings for Yui are Yui/Kanato and Yui/Reiji, so if you want to include either or both of those ships that's fine by me.

Yui & Komori Seiji:
So, first I have to acknowledge the obvious: Yui's father's characterization has been retconned at least one time that I'm aware of, which is almost impressive considering he barely got characterization to begin with. I stopped paying attention to the newer games post-Dark Fate/Lunatic Parade so I'm not aware if he's come up again, but since the two appearances I'm aware of (in Haunted Dark Bridal and in More Blood) have him doing almost the exact opposite thing in a very similar situation I'm totally willing to be, shall we say, flexible in terms of how you want to characterize Seiji, particularly on the subject of his bond with Yui and how he was as a father to her. Obviously he was a vampire hunter but he also did not take proper precautions to protect Yui from vampires, but that doesn't necessarily mean he was a bad or neglectful parent during her childhood and early teen years.

That said, for me personally one of the most effective truly horrifying moments in the first game was Kanato bringing vampire!Yui to meet and kill her father (in the heaven scenarios) and part of what was so creepy and sad about it, besides Yui not recognizing or remembering her father, was Yui saying that she'd expected a vampire hunter to put up more of a fight, with the implication that Seiji loved her too much to use all his skill to try to kill her even though she'd become a monster. I'm more interested in that version of her father than the one in More Blood who can't even tell if she's a vampire or not that just jumps to attempted murder (as fun as Kanato protecting her is). So I'd absolutely love heartbreaking Seiji POV for that heaven scenario!

If that doesn't speak to you, I'd be interested in pretty much any scenario in which Yui and Seiji reunite but Yui has been changed enough by her experiences that they can't find common ground any more. A Yui who's been corrupted by Cordelia's influence not understanding why her father is frightened by her or disgusted by her newfound cruelty? Seiji trying to protect his daughter and inadvertently killing the one vampire she's formed the closest bond with, not understanding why she's devastated? (For this prompt, I'd rather the dead vampire boyfriend be Shu, Subaru or Ayato than Kanato or Reiji, or perhaps one of the Mukamis if you're into the More Blood version) Or a snapshot of Yui's childhood/teen years, with Seiji concealing his vampire hunting activities and lying to Yui over and over again even as increasingly weird and unsettling things are happening? Or an AU where Seiji manages to come back and rescue Yui before she gets in too deep with the Sakamakis, but where they're constantly on the run being tracked by the brothers, Richter and/or other vampires at the behest of Karl Heinz?

The Legend of Zelda: The Ocarina of Time
Genres: Folk Horror, Gothic Horror, Supernatural Horror, Psychological Horror, Survival Horror

✵ Solo: The Poe Collector
✵ The Poe Sisters | Joelle & Beth & Amy & Meg

The Poe Sisters: So, how creepy is the Forest Temple? I'll be honest and say I do in fact think every single dungeon in Ocarina of Time is creepy in its own way but even so, there's something about how much mystery surrounds the Forest Temple and how it's the only one that really feels out of place with its surroundings. I mean, it's a house, right? Just a decaying mansion in the middle of the Lost Woods that's been reclaimed by the forest and the creatures who actually belong there, after something happened to the original inhabitants. Did the house become the temple after it was abandoned or was the house built on the bones of where the temple should have been so the house was always doomed to become a vacant temple once again? Did the Poe Sisters live there while it was still a new building, or were they the last humans left as the place gradually deteriorated and was overtaken by the forest? Were they humans (Hylians, or Sheikah in hiding?) who died, or is the process of becoming a Poe stranger and more eerie than that? Did they all become Poes at once, or did they change one by one and still recognize their sisters? What's it like to be a Poe, anyway? Do they have goals and motivations, or are they reduced to very basic shadows of themselves? Do they have any kind of awareness of Phantom Ganon or the ways in which the temple itself is being corrupted or are they part of the corruption?

The Poe Collector:
I personally love the theory that the bored soldier you meet in that same building in Hyrule Castle Town becomes the Poe Collector in the future timeline. Whether or not it's specifically him, clearly there are some opportunists and unscrupulous types who thrived under Ganondorf's rule, and the Poe Collector is definitely one of those. Why does he collect Poes, even if he would be in a different line of work if he looked like Link? Has he undergone some sort of transformation himself or is he just a really ominous looking person? Does he interact with the Poes? What about other creatures like Stalchildren that seem like they might have been people once? Does the Poe Collector know about the Kakariko Graveyard, the Bottom of the Well or generally Hyrule's dark secrets held by the Shadow Temple and the dead or is he a purely independent opportunist? The Poe Collector in Majora's Mask seems to know things about Ikana, assuming he's the same person... though then again, Termina being Termina, maybe he isn't.

Vampire Chronicles Series - Anne Rice
Genres: Gothic Horror, Religious Horror, Psychological Horror, Survival Horror

✵ Solo: Armand
✵ Armand & Lestat de Lioncourt
✵ Armand & Daniel Molloy

General note for the Vampire Chronicles: my preferred canon is the first three books, though I have read through The Vampire Armand. I haven't read the Prince Lestat books and it sounds like I would not like them so I'd rather not receive anything set during that period, or heavily incorporating the Mayfairs.

I ship Armand/Lestat and Armand/Daniel and would be happy to receive romantic/sexual content for either or both ships, including mentions of Armand having feelings for Lestat that are left ambiguous as to whether they're actually requited or not (though I would prefer it if that's because Lestat isn't in the story rather than something like Lestat outright rejecting Armand or being seen favoring others romantically) and Armand > Daniel or Daniel > Armand either before they're officially together or when they're having one of their breaks and are bitterly unsure if the other one even cares about them anymore. If you're writing just Armand, I'm also open to Armand/Original Character(s) and mentions of Armand's other canon relationships, though I'm not a big fan of Armand/Louis and have some specific squicks around Armand/Marius (more detail on that below)

Armand:
There's a lot to explore in the Children of Darkness years, which Armand kind of skims through in his book... one of my pet theories is that it's because he doesn't want to be held responsible for what he did in those times, because he almost definitely didn't whoopsie trip into becoming a damn coven leader! I believe he made the pragmatic and practical decision to accept his new reality and actively worked to gain trust and position within the cult, but stopped short of telling David Talbot/the world because he didn't think it sounded sympathetic. Which is funny because I actually like that much better for him than "I was just terrorized into compliance, it was beyond my control." This is the main reason I ticked Religious Horror, though I'm also completely open to Armand and/or Lestat having a creepy experience with a Christian/Catholic angle. I would prefer no other real-world religions brought into it, however. (And please please do not write horror set in Kyiv or with Ukrainian perpetrators in Armand's early childhood or later)

Alternatively, how did Armand and the vampire theater survive the French Revolution? That must've been a hell of a time to be in Paris! Or something about the horror of time marching on, or having nightmares about someone he's killed or had to leave behind or feels responsible for losing? We know that Armand fears being alone... so what happens when Armand is inevitably forced to be alone. How did he stay sane and keep from going underground in those decades between when Lestat went underground and Daniel showed up at Lestat's Garden District home in 1976?

Armand & Lestat: What if Armand took (more) advantage of finding Lestat in a weakened state in New Orleans post-Louis breakup? Or what if he made contact with Lestat sooner (before Gabrielle's turning?) and tried to indoctrinate him into the Children of Darkness? Is there anything powerful enough to victimize them both together? Lestat thinks about the things that scare him about Armand in TVL and elsewhere, but what about the things in Lestat that frighten Armand? Lestat, in Armand's POV, basically forces him out of his home and shatters his spiritual and communal illusions. Surely there's something horrifying about confronting Paris then, about confronting every successive modern age, because Armand always tries to get a buffer of some sort to understand it. What future inventions (and I'm using a loose definition of "future" that basically includes everything from the 16th century onward) frighten and unsettle Armand the most?

Armand & Daniel: Daniel's entire life since meeting Armand is a horror story, obviously, but I'm always happy to hear more about it.  How does Daniel conceptualize being stalked by a vampire for years without that vampire losing interest before he's willing to confront there being a romantic/sexual component? Does it become more or less horrifying when he does get romantically/sexually involved with Armand? Does Daniel have any existential crises beyond confronting his own mortality, thinking about what it means to be in a world of vampires? What would happen if another vampire tried to go after Daniel?

Note regarding Marius (and Marius/Armand): I love to hate Marius, he is so spectacularly the worst that sometimes I had to just put down TVL or TVA and scream, but you know, he's a deeply important facet to understanding Armand and why he is the way he is and their relationship is as fascinating and compelling as it is upsetting (to me). But I also really viscerally hated the moments when it felt like the narrative was reinforcing the idea that Marius was a benevolent god (rather than every bit as flawed and biased by the things he had been raised to believe in his own lifetime as any other vampire) and ideal teacher of wisdom, even as he flew off the handle every time Armand asked a solid question or dared to have a different opinion. So I guess what I'm trying to say is... I'm not against Armand/Marius coming up, or Marius himself appearing or being referenced, but I'd appreciate it if Lestat was less starry-eyed about him and Armand was allowed to feel bitter and/or conflicted about aspects of his upbringing and early vampire years without doubling back to go 'but of course Marius's wisdom was unassailable!' if that makes sense.

Hi, and thank you for checking out my letter! I've thrown out a bunch of prompts for each character and/or ship I requested in each fandom but if none of them speak to you, provided you're not specifically using something I mentioned as a squick/DNW for that fandom, make whatever you want. These are all pretty small fandoms that don't see tons of fic, so I'm honestly thrilled that you're considering working on a little trick or treat for any one of them.

If you are interested in writing me horror or smut I encourage you to check out my recent letters for Multifandom Horror and Smut Swap respectively, I have a lot of other additional likes both general and specific in those.

Blanket DNWs that are a bit more relevant to some fandoms than others: terminal illness, non-canonical major character death, pregnancy, kidfic, total paralysis/I have no mouth but I must scream kind of scenarios, amputation/permanent disfigurement, ageplay/extreme underage, vomit, scat, bestiality, insane asylums, shock treatment, medical stuff, eye and fingernail harm, gendered violence against women (women attacked/hurt in their reproductive organs/breasts, a focus on killing women specifically, women punished for being sexually active), non-canon age regression (out of fear or for any other reason really).

Also my AO3 name is HannaM just in case you're a lovely person browsing for treats.

The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask
✵ Link
Open To Sexual Content: No
Trick or Treat, Fic
So I finally finished this game for the first time this year, and I really love the mood it sets and how well it immerses you (and Link by extension) in all these characters' various plights. If you're not interested in writing something creepy, I'd actually be delighted by a story of Link returning to Hyrule, being reminded of the people and places he encountered in Termina and using things he learned there to improve the lives of everyday people (and/or Zelda, Malon, the Zora, the Kokiri...). Otherwise man, feel free to dig into the creepy here. What is it like wearing the various masks? Is Link ever in danger of being trapped in one of his forms besides the Deku one at the beginning? If that darned bird steals his stuff, what does he have to go through to get it back? Does anyone besides Tingle ever recognize Link from one form to the next?

Pictures of You- Oingo Boingo (Song)
✵ Singer/You
Open To Sexual Content: Yes
Trick, Fic
Who (or what) are You? When did the singer meet You (her? him? them?) if they can even remember it? What do You want, really? Are they dead and haunting the singer? Are they some sort of supernatural entity with a crush? And what about the singer? Did they kill You? Why do You come to them twice, once wrong and cold and once right and warm, successfully seducing the singer? Will You come to them a third time? Incidentally, I'd love a gothic horror take on this song (love gothic horror in general) but I'd also be delighted with a good old fashioned haunting or guilt-based obsession.

I'll note that I originally pictured You as female, but I'm open to them being male or nonbinary as well!

ピオフィオーレの晩鐘 | Piofiore no Banshou (Visual Novel)
✵ Yang
✵ Liliana Adornato/Yang
Open to Sexual Content: Yes
Trick or Treat, Fic
I adored Yang before even unlocking his route, just from seeing him effortlessly manipulate events on Nicola’s. Yang’s actual route didn’t disappoint! I love his relationship with Lili, how he pushes her to think for herself and keeps her (and everyone around him) on their toes. If we matched on just Yang I’d love something about when he was first getting established in Veleno, or him playing off the Falzones and/or Visconti, figuring out how they work and how to exploit their weaknesses for his own gain. Or about him post his bad end with Lili or post, say, Nicola's ends where he ends up seriously injured but not necessarily dead, clawing his way back into a position of power because he's a damned survivor :D

If we matched on Lili/Yang, I really like that Lili grows up a lot more over the course of his route. She's forced to challenge a lot of her preconceived notions and ends up more pragmatic for it. I especially liked the scene where the Falzones try to take her and she says she doesn't trust them because they're two-faced, unlike Yang, who doesn't pretend to be anything other than what he is. There aren't many simple answers on Yang's route, and I'd love it if that carried over into the fic. The best end involves Lili leaving Italy altogether with him, which can't be easy for her. How does she cope with the culture shock and learning a new language? Does Yang have any tips for her based on his experiences? Or, what if they met under different circumstances? Could Yang successfully seduce Lili away from one of the Falzone?

I will mention though I'm not too fussed about spoilers at the time of writing this letter I've finished Nicola's route, Yang's route and am partway through Dante's. I haven't gotten to Orlok or Gilbert yet.

Wiedźmin | The Witcher (Video Game)
✵ Geralt of Rivia
✵ Cirilla Fiona Elen Riannon/Philippa Eilhart
✵ Geralt of Rivia/Triss Merigold
Open to Sexual Content: Yes
Trick or Treat, Fic
Special DNWs: on-screen Geralt/Yennefer (or Geralt/Yennefer as a major part of the story) or any Geralt/Dandelion; Geralt, Ciri, or Triss dying.

Geralt: I absolutely adore Geralt, he's one of my favorite video game protagonists and I think his understated sarcastic humor is so underrated (at least by a lot of other characters in the games, who admittedly don't get to hear as much of it as the player does). What does a really good day look like for Geralt? A really bad one, preferably with some sort of relief at the end? A monster that forces him to use all his wits, or one who convinces him to spare them? Some bonding/relaxing time with Lambert and/or Eskel and/or Vesemir? A moment when Ciri made him a proud father?
I don't much enjoy Geralt/Yennefer as a romantic pairing so while I don't need you to pretend they didn't happen I'd prefer it if they were either broken up, on an "off-again" period of their romance or just not interacting on screen in the fic.

Ciri/Philippa: This is sort of an out-there ship, but bear with me! What if Philippa's plan worked and Ciri ended up as the heir to Nilfgaard with Philippa as her advisor? I'd love to see the struggle between Ciri doing her best not to be manipulated and Philippa being, well, Philippa. Dubcon absolutely encouraged, but it'd also be fun if Ciri genuinely found Philippa a helpful mentor, even if eventually she has to break free from her to keep her independence and do what's right. I'll also note this is a rare case where not only am I okay with both halves of the ship hurting each other, I'd also accept an ending with Ciri attempting to (and/or succeeding in!) murder Philippa, either post relationship or while Philippa believes Ciri's still under her thumb.

Geralt/Triss: I really love their dynamic in the games, how Geralt is able to be playful with Triss and how warm and relaxed Triss can get with Geralt, I'd love anything more on that score although admittedly I got quite a lot from canon! There's a lot of room for fun with these two, and I'd particularly enjoy some sexy misdaventures or them able to laugh together after something went wrong or something particularly preposterous happened to one or both. Or, for a change, Triss saving Geralt from a tight spot! (Receiving a grateful kiss?) Or, if you're up for something spooky/creepy, a romantic getaway turned into a nightmare? Perhaps after a period of separation, Geralt and Triss both get roped individually or together into investigating something that turns out to be a lot freakier than either of them anticipated? Or perhaps something disguises itself as Triss to seduce Geralt and Geralt slowly realizes something's not right (or realizes abruptly when the real Triss shows up)

The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask
Characters: Link, Link & Happy Mask Salesman
Genres: Body Horror, Survival Horror, Psychological Horror
Sexual Content: No
The masks are already pretty horrifying IMO, so it’d be great to get some Link POV on them. Or how they were created (did the Happy Mask Salesman create them, happen upon them, purchase them?) or more about their origins. Or, if you don’t want to write about the masks, anything about Link exploring in a weakened state/dealing with the fact that he was once strong enough to defeat Ganondorf and then was forcibly changed into a weak Deku Scrub at the beginning of the game.

Pictures of You- Oingo Boingo (Song)
Characters: Singer/You
Genres: Gothic Horror, Paranormal Horror
Sexual Content: Yes
Who (or what) are You? When did the singer meet You (her? him? them?) if they can even remember it? What do You want, really? Are they dead and haunting the singer? Are they some sort of supernatural entity with a crush? And what about the singer? Did they kill You? Wiedźmin | The Witcher (Video Game)
Characters: Geralt of Rivia, Geralt of Rivia & Ciri
Genres: Folk Horror, Paranormal Horror, Psychological Horror, Religious Horror
Sexual Content: No
A creepy Geralt (or Geralt + Ciri) adventure, please! Maybe Geralt (or Ciri) is wounded and has to recover in a creepy small town? Maybe a ghost from the past finds Geralt? Or maybe a cult wants Ciri because of her blood, or Geralt because of his mutations? There’s plenty of material in canon for all these types, of course, so feel free to build off existing lore or create your own spooky situation.

Wiedźmin | The Witcher (Video Game)
Relationship: Geralt of Rivia/Triss Merigold
Genres: Paranormal Horror, Psychological Horror? Gothic Horror?
Sexual Content: Optional
A romantic getaway turned into a nightmare? Or perhaps after a period of separation, Geralt and Triss both get roped individually or together into investigating something that turns out to be a lot freakier than either of them anticipated? Or perhaps something disguises itself as Triss to seduce Geralt and Geralt slowly realizes something's not right (or realizes abruptly when the real Triss shows up)... or any other ideas you might have to combine horror with romance for these two!
